The Habanos Festival is the perfect moment to discover, first-hand, the famous “Totally Handmade” process of making Habanos in the capital’s Habanos factories. It’s a unique process in the world that is only made in Cuba today with that level of craftsmanship, maintaining the same 500-years-old making style. Participants will be able to learn about this process by making their own Habano under the guidance of the factory’s expert cigar rollers.
The factories to be visited will be:
Laguito: The most emblematic Habanos factory in the world, in charge of the meticulous making of the most exclusive vitolas of the prestigious Cohiba brand, and specifically of its Línea Behike, which celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2025.
Partagás: One of the most renowned factories in the world of Habanos for its famed quality as HQ for Partagás Habanos, a brand that celebrates its 180th anniversary in 2025.
Upmann: Another of the world’s most renowned handmade Habanos factories is the HQ for the H. Upmann Habanos. An emblematic factory that in 2003 was moved to a modern facility in the central 23rd Street, in Vedado, La Habana.
La Corona: known as the “Iron House”. Throughout its history, and before its installation on Zulueta Street in 1904, the factory had changed location on several occasions. It is currently located on 20 de Mayo Street and the railroad line, and is one of the most efficient factories in Cuba, allowing Habanos to be produced under the most optimal production conditions.
Carlos Baliño: It is the new Romeo y Julieta factory, located in the municipality of Marianao, a little more than ten kilometers from La Habana’s downtown, in a restored building of an old convent from the early 20th century. It is the headquarters of the Romeo y Julieta Habanos brand, which celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2025.
